Weight Cutting Experiment
Hey Guys,
Thought I would check in and give you a mini update on how the experiment is going (you can read the first bit HERE).
So far I am down to 70KG which isn't much but is showing that my body is starting to flush water. The magic will happen today and tomorrow.
Remember this is a WEIGHT loss experiment and not a fat loss one.
Today is the last day of water loading which will be 6 litres. I don't really find getting in the water that hard as I normality drink a lot to start with. I have noticed that as my body starts to flush water I am feeling parched and have a dry mouth quite a lot of the time. This is completely normal and a sign that I am moving in the right way.
I am however bloody starving, especially after training. Even with the extra volume of water my stomach is growling pretty much all day. This is just down to the lack of solid food though as all of my nutritional bases are covered for this plan (short term, not long term).
There is no way any athlete would be doing this for more than a few days without severely compromising performance and health. So don't even think about it!
I have stuck to the plan as I have laid out to the letter apart from the following changes that I have made today,

I have stuck to the plan as I have laid out to the letter apart from the following changes that I have made today,
- I have added in a mild laxative to help shed a few pounds from my digestive tract. This is EXTREMELY mild and a very, very low dose. I don't want to be overly dehydrated and I need to be able to recover quickly so anything harsh is counter productive.
- I have decided to remove all salt from my plan today and tomorrow (do you know how many things contain salt? Take a look in your cupboards and feel the pain of fighters...).
That's it for the moment. Going to stick to the plan and cut water tomorrow then try to rehydrate and fuel up on Saturday morning!
Stay healthy,
Mike
